Fundraising
Probably the biggest challenge in any such monument project is actually raising the funds needed to cover the costs of procurement, construction, installation and ongoing maintenance. We know what we want and where to mount it - now we just have to source the money to pay for it!
As part of the Project Vernon fundraising campaign, the Organising Management Committee has tasked the Fund Raising Working Group to devise a series of major, medium and minor events and schemes to raise funds through public voluntary donation and commercial sponsorship.
The current plans for each such category include:
- Major - Black Tie Dinners, in Portsmouth and London
- Medium - Great Mud Run or similar, fitness-based events
- Minor - Prize Draws, held annually and at major events
