Donations
The monument will be funded entirely by voluntary donation. All and any contributions are therefore very welcome. Now registered as a Charity in England and Wales, the
Vernon Monument is also currently progressing the appointment of a Patron - more news to follow.
Our preferred means of donation to the Charity's fund is via a Bank Transfer to "
The Vernon Monument Project Fund" accompanied by a
Gift Aid declaration. Details of how this income tax recovery mechanism works are listed on the
HMRC web site. The mailing address for the Project Vernon Honorary Treasurer is listed on the
Contact Us page on this website.
For those supporters organising fundraising or sponsored events, the next most effective means of collecting funds is probably via
PayPal (see the button below) or via the website
JustGiving.com. We have now raised our project target to over £250,000, to reflect recent rises in the cost of materials, scale and location - assuming that the current concept of a x1.75 life-size statue, made from bronze, stainless steel and granite, mounted in 5 metres of water is going to be the sculptor's final design, but watch this space!
Any surplus funds raised, post-installation,will be split between selected maritime and young people's charities.
