Milestones
27 June 2011Revised target date for unveiling day - Veterans Day in June 2009 looked good initially,as did June 2010, but practical production constraints and the general economic crisis have caused us to defer this, realistically, until a year later... watch this space!
19 Jan 2010"Danger At Depth" original painting sold to a private buyer for a significant sum. Our official artist, John R Terry FCSD, is commissioned to paint the second in the series: either "Tiger Tails" or "Up The Creek"?
 10 Dec 2009

Inaugural Project Vernon Christmas Carol Service. Colin Welborn kindly organised this enjoyable seasonal event at St Barbara's Church, Whale Island. The Service was followed by traditional mince pies and mulled wine, in the SR Mess, afterwards. The aim was to kick off the Christmas season, raise some money for the Vernon Monument Fund and, above all, meet up with like-minded friends and their families: success all round!

 27 Oct 2009
Trustees Meeting #4, Organising Management Committee Meeting (OMC) Meeting #6 at FDHQ, Horsea Island; Tony Devitt joins as Honorary Treasurer vice Tony Griffiths and Frank Ward steps down as Chairman, replaced by Mike Handford.
 2 Oct 2009
Inaugural MADMED (Minewarfare And Diving Middle East Division) Dinner held in Bahrain - thoroughly well organised by Dave Hunkin, this special event raised over £1,000 for the Vernon Monument Fund by purchasing the original proof print (#000) of Danger At Depth (as kindly donated by the winner of the Summer Draw!). A great evening, enjoyed by all.
